Yep, there are two meal plans. One 1500 kcal/day (women) and one 1800 kcal/day (men). If you want to calculate your individual calorie intake we recommend modifying the snacks to reach your daily calorie limit. Alternatively you can always vary the calories of a meal by adding or removing certain ingredients (bread, avocado, etc.) to adjust to your individual level.
Let’s be honest with ourselves, though: as pleasant as the fantasy is, there’s no magical herb growing on a rocky mountainside in some remote part of the world that — on its own — will slim you down until you’re a trim, glowing version of yourself. In order to slenderize healthily, you already know what you need to do: eat more green vegetables, reduce your sugar intake, put the pint glass down occasionally, and exercise with something resembling regularity.

A potential benefit of going vegetarian to lose weight is that you may consume fewer calories. Researchers from Lund University in Sweden have been isolating and researching thylakoids since the early 1990’s. In 2009, Dr. Rickard Kohnke and his team at the “Appetite Regulation Unit” of the Department of Experimental Medicine, Lund University, Sweden, discovered that overweight mice on high-fat diets decreased their food intake, experienced significantly less weight gain, and had lower body fat when their high-fat diets were supplemented with thylakoid isolated from spinach. Compared to the mice who did not receive thylakoid, they also had lower blood sugar levels and lower triglycerides. They also had higher levels of the satiety hormone cholecystokinin, a hormone secreted by the small intestine that helps digest fat and protein as well suppressing appetite.

Although not every study has shown such strong and positive weight loss results associated with green tea extract, it seems safe for most adults to take up to 800–900 milligrams daily, usually spread out over three increments.
